Next, Joseph defines faith as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. He also explains patience to mean, remaining consistently the same as the first word we received without wavering. Thus, when we have faith, patience, and endurance, we obtain God’s promises. He informs us that God requires us to alter our environment through faith, as the Book of 1 John 5:4 reveals: “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

Joseph further brings to our understanding that, when we maintain our composure in faith, patience, and endurance, the world before us bows the knee and we become a wrecking ball to the kingdom of darkness. He also makes us realize that with consistent application of faith, patience, and endurance we can alter the narrative in the affairs of life. He assures us that our faith and patience mean a lot to God, and He can do the impossible for us if we do not let go.
