Wat Phra Samut Chedi วัดพระสมุทรเจดีย์ is an ancient Buddhist temple in Samut Prakan Province Thailand.

On the 5th day of the waning moon of the 11th month of every year (around October), there will be a stūpa worship ceremony. This is the biggest temple fair in Samut Prakan and the one greatest traditions in the province.

This year the festival is held feom October 22nd until November 2nd

This large festival organized around Wat the Phra Samut Chedi, Samut Prakan’s most famous temple, located about thirty kilometers south of Bangkok. This festival is held each year and is on each side of the Chaophraya river.

You will find a huge night market and fair with kids games, carnival rides and a huge variety of food.

There are a lot of temples in Thailand organizing big fairs but it is the longest one as it lasts around 2 weeks.

Getting to the Samut Prakan Temple Fair from downtown Bangkok is easy. Just take the BTS to Paknam station. The night market is directly next to the BTS station so no need to hire transportstion once you are there, simply exit and you are in the market. You can also take a boat to cross the river and see the other part for 5 Baht.

This is a great night market and worth the time to go see if you are in the city in late October.
