UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer indicated potential support for non-financial reparations to some Commonwealth nations, such as debt relief, educational initiatives on slavery, and economic aid.

However, he ruled out a formal government apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade.

The call for reparatory justice gained momentum at a Commonwealth summit in Samoa, with Caribbean nations leading the push, advocating for cultural institutions to restore historical memory, Semafor has reported.
