US Election 2024 updates: US Vice President Kamala Harris Address Before Townhall | N18G

Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris responded on Wednesday (October 23) to an interview with Donald Trump's former White House chief of staff, John Kelly, who asserted Trump met the definition of a "fascist".

In a series of interviews with the New York Times, Kelly said his former boss "prefers the dictator approach to government" and that he had no understanding of the U.S. constitution or the concept of the rule of law.

"Donald Trump is increasingly unhinged and unstable," Harris said outside her residence at the Naval Observatory.

Kelly said the former president would seek to rule like an authoritarian if he returned to the White House.

In the interviews published on Tuesday, Kelly cited Trump as having told him Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler "did some good things."

Kelly served as Trump's White House chief of staff between 2017 and 2019.

Since Kelly left the White House the two men's relationship has soured and both are open about their disdain for each other.
