31. Healing the deaf and dumb man (Mark 7:31-37)

Jesus continues his ministry among the Gentiles when he returns to the Decapolis and heals a man suffering of impairment both of hearing and speech. Mark includes in his telling of the story clues that show his interest in the Gentiles and their status in his community of faith, showing that the saving grace of Christ will liberate humankind from the confusion and chaos of polytheistic paganism.
