She's making children's books with a message

As a way to pay off her school loans she started writing and publishing books. Jessica Cassick's latest work is a children's book called Elise Keeps Smiling. The inspiration for the book was her classmate Elise Schunk. Jessica says "she was the light in the classroom, she made everybody laugh." 7 Eyewitness News followed Elise's battle with stage four melanoma, a battle that she lost in 2015. Jessica's book isn't about cancer. It pays tribute to Elise and shares an important message about the importance of wearing sunscreen. Jessica says that 60% of the proceeds of the book will go to Roswell Cancer Center. Each book will include a sample of sunscreen and a tip sheet about melanoma that was compiled by Roswell.
