LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Two adults and two minors were killed in a house fire in the southwest valley that caused the second floor, third floor and roof to collapse Thursday morning, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The initial call came in at 4:10 a.m. notifying crews that a house was on fire at 8332 Langhorne Creek Street. When crews arrived on the scene, the home had fire blasting from all windows on the second and third floors.

Firefighters tried to enter the second floor through the front door but were pushed out by the heat. Instead, they searched the first floor by cutting through the garage door. While doing a quick search, the second floor collapsed onto them.

The fire was declared defensive— meaning crews had to protect nearby threatened homes by using water from the outside.

A mother and a minor jumped from a third-floor window. They were both transported to an area hospital. 14 hours later— 2 adults and 2 children were found dead in the home.

Crews said the collapse is making access difficult. The roof, third floor and second floor have all collapsed into a debris field in the garage. The homes are close together so it broke the windows of one home next to it. The chief also said the structure is very dangerous at this point— with the floors burned through and the walls structurally questionable.'

This is an ongoing investigation and there is no information on the cause or origin of the fire.

Officials said it is so important to have a fire escape plan and test your smoke detectors for prevention.
