Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed appreciation for the "sincere" remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding his intentions to resolve the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

During a press conference concluding the BRICS summit in Kazan, Putin commented, Mr. Trump “spoke about his desire to do everything to end the conflict in Ukraine. I think he is being sincere. Of course we welcome statements like this, whoever they come from,”
