The Las Vegas Raiders are bringing in a new quarterback following the injury to Aidan O'Connell.

The Raiders are signing former third-round pick Desmond Ridder off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Ridder will join Gardner Minshew in the Raiders' quarterback room. This signing comes after starting quarterback Aidan O'Connell suffered a fractured thumb in Week 7 and was placed on injured reserve on Monday.

Ridder was named the starter for the 2023 season and made 13 starts, leading the Falcons to a 6-7 record in those games. He completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 2,836 yards with 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He ran 53 times for 193 yards and five more touchdowns on the groundSigned QB Desmond Ridder to the active roster from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad; Placed QB Aidan O'Connell on the Reserve/Injured list; Signed WR Terrace Marshall and TE Trevon Wesco to the practice squad.
