Following the conclusion of the 2024 WNBA season, many fans and organizations are turning their attention to the upcoming free pro season, especially those teams that missed out on a spot in the finals or were eliminated from the get-go.

One team that is particularly creating a buzz in the free pro market is the Indiana Fever. The Indiana Fever finished the 2024 season with a strong record of 20 minutes and 20 seconds, ranking sixth in the WNBA rankings.

Unfortunately, the Fever's finalist team was eliminated in the first round, despite having the strength of champion players Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell.

Since their first finals loss, Indiana Fever fans have been clamoring for a major addition to the program: Dallas Wings forward Sato Sabally.

He is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025 after five seasons with the Wings. Sabally, a proven WNBA talent, has announced that a big change is coming. She recently spoke about her excitement over the prospect of a free team and the possibility of new opportunities ahead.

"This offseason is a lot of growth for me," Sabally said. "It has to do with decisions about a new shoe brand and potentially joining a new team. I'll be a free agent this year, and it's really exciting."

Fever fans are especially excited about the possibility of Sabally joining the team, especially the opportunity to pair her with Caitlin Clark, who led the WNBA with 8.4 assists per game this season. Fever fans have taken to social media to show their support for Sabally, leaving comments on TikTok posts hinting at a possible move. Sabally herself liked some of the comments that mentioned the Fever, which fueled speculation and fan energy.

"Sato, please come to Indy, we love you," said one excited fan, noting that she would love to see her in a Fever uniform alongside Caitlin Clark. Another fan said without hesitation, "She'll either go to the Freedom or the Fever, nowhere else."

Sabally would give the Indiana Fever an incredible range of skills. During the 2024 season, she averaged 17.9 points, 6.4 comebacks and 5.0 assists per game over 15 appearances, despite a shoulder injury limiting her on-court experience. Now, she is fully rehabilitated and ready to start her sixth WNBA season.

Drafted second overall by the Dallas Wings in 2020, Sabally has developed into a well-rounded player who can score, resiliency, and work for a partner, making her a highly sought-after free agent.

Indiana Fever fans are hopeful that signing Sabally will give them the missing piece they need to advance in postseason games.

Combining their talent with Caitlin Clark's playmaking skills, Aliyah Boston's defensive prowess, and Kelsey Mitchell's hitting ability, the Fever could be a formidable team in the 2025 season.

Fever fans continue to be excited about Sabally's arrival, and many see her as a perfect fit for Indiana.

As the vacancy nears, the competition to acquire Sabally is likely to be fierce, with other teams, including the New York Freedom, said to be in the running, but for now, Indiana Fever fans remain confident the team will be able to utilize Sabally's talents to bolster their roster heading into the longer end of the season.
