In this section Paul begins a response to an accusation that he is unreliable because he had planned on visiting the church at Corinth on his way to Macedonia, but changed his plans. Paul will address the specific reason for the change of plans in chapter two, but before he gets to that he reminds the Corinthians that he is not fickle as some claim. Rather, Paul points to God's faithfulness. Although Paul's plans may change, God never does. He is faithful to all His promises. Paul will conclude this section with four assurances of God's faithfulness towards us (v.21-22).
