The #19 Panthers blew out the Orange, 41-13, in a dominant defensive performance. The Pitt defense picked off Syracuse's Kyle McCord four times in the first half, returning three of the interceptions for touchdowns. At halftime, the Pitt defense had 127 return yards on interceptions while the Syracuse offense had 123 total yards, and the Pitt offense only had 83 total yards. The Pitt defense also had four sacks and nine tackles for loss. Pitt quarterback Eli Holstein was 11-15 for 108 yards and two touchdowns. While McCord was picked off five times in the game, he also completed 35 of 64 pass attempts for 321 yards.
