Anti-Cult Laws and Human Rights. Expert opinion by Fabrizio D'Agostini

This interview examines the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms and democratic principles in modern society. Human rights lawyer, co-founder, and member of the Board of Directors of The European Federation for Freedom of Belief (FOB) Fabrizio D'Agostini presents his expert opinion on a French law aimed at strengthening the fight against so-called “sectarian deviance” and criminalizing “psychological subjugation”.

He comments on the possible implications of this law for freedom and democracy in Europe and analyzes the potential contradictions between such legislative initiatives and international standards of human rights protection.
