The following message is from the North Little Rock Fire Department:

Teamwork in Action: Mutual Aid Saves the Day!
This afternoon, the Lake Maumelle Fire Department along with Arkansas State Park Rangers responded to the report of an injured hiker at the summit of Pinnacle Mountain. Due to the nature of the injury and rugged terrain, it was clear that carrying the hiker down would not be feasible. The hiker, located on the East Summit Trail, approximately 50 yards from the summit required extraction via helicopter. The request was immediately made for a helicopter to retrieve the patient from the mountain.
Thanks to the quick coordination between multiple agencies, the hiker was safely rescued. North Little Rock Firefighters who are also members of the elite group that makes up the Arkansas Task Force One’s Helicopter Rescue Team, along with the amazing pilots of the 77th Combat Aviation Brigade of the Arkansas National Guard, performed the aerial extraction. Our very own Lieutenant Hunter Moix was the rescuer lowered to package and retrieve the patient.
With medical support provided by MEMS (Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services), the patient was well taken care of. Coordination through the Pulaski County Office of Emergency Management ensured that every detail came together without a hitch.
We couldn't be more proud of all the agencies working hand-in-hand to bring the injured hikers safely off the mountain. There were a great deal of moving parts that made this rescue possible. Through communication, multi-agency teamwork, and perfect weather, we are happy to say everything came together and the patient made it safely off the mountain!
Don’t forget to like, share, and follow. We want to keep every one of you connected. From the firehouse to the fire ground, we love what we do and do it for you!
