International security expert Max Abrahms has called out a report about Donald Trump by The Atlantic as “clearly false” and “petty”.
The Atlantic’s report, ‘Trump: ‘I Need the Kind of Generals That Hitler Had’,’ claimed Donald Trump offered to pay for the funeral of 20-year-old Army private Vanessa Guillen who was bludgeoned to death by another solider in 2020 at Ford Hood in Texas.
According to the report, the former president became angry after he found out the funeral would cost $60,000.
Guillen’s family attorney told The Atlantic no money was ever received from the White House, however, the Trump campaign and his former chief of staff Mark Meadows have rejected the claims.
Guillen’s sister Mayra Guillen also posted on X saying the article exploited her family.
