The U.S. Space Force is monitoring space debris following the explosion of the Intelsat 33e satellite, manufactured by Boeing.

Launched in 2016 and providing communications across Europe, Asia, and Africa, the satellite experienced “an anomaly” on Saturday.

Despite efforts to repair it, the satellite exploded on Monday, leaving some customers without power or communication services.

Intelsat is collaborating with third-party providers to mitigate disruptions and is in contact with affected customers, CBS News has reported.
