Part 11:
After the chaos of the Spring and Summer of 2020, my family and I left Los Angeles for Florida, joining many of our friends who scattered across the country. We arrived in February 2021, expecting a world on fire—only to find retired folks enjoying life. It felt surreal, like being in a different reality, surrounded by people who had no idea what we had just been through.

In this episode, I share our experience in hopes that it might resonate with yours. From feeling like I was living in a Twilight Zone episode to adjusting to a new life in Florida, this was a journey of survival, learning, and adapting. I even shifted how I get my news and information—details on that in another part of this series.

Despite the safety of Florida, I found myself in survival mode, determined to ensure my family’s security. We bought a house, stocked up on essentials, learned about self-reliance, and adapted to a new reality. This experience, combined with my survival instincts from a plane crash 40 years ago, led me to write my book, The Gift.

Join me as I share how my survival instincts kicked in, what I learned about preparedness, and the path that led me to become more self-sufficient. And stay tuned—next time, I'll dive deeper into the story behind The Gift.
