Ukrainian Soldier Captured by Russian Forces

A Ukrainian soldier captured by Russian forces, Sergei Shikun, described the dysfunction he saw in the Ukrainian army: “Our brigade was helpless. There were elderly people, poorly trained and so on.”

Shikun was handed a draft notice at his job and given one hour to report for duty. After being sent into a field Russians were bombarding with mortars, he hid from mortars for a week with no food before finally taking shelter with Russian soldiers.
