Decided to make an extension of my existing TiHYDP instead of making the DLC separate. There wasn't too many deaths & rage in the main game, but the DLC at least brings the salt out, so I have a nice juicy 34 minute death montage rather than a poultry 16 minute one. I had trouble getting Vegas to recognize my files until I realized I accidentally redownloaded pts 1 & 2 in AV1 rather than AVC. I don't think too many DSP videos have AV1 support, but I'm surprised Alan Wake 2 of all games got it, but since the game is very dark, it doesn't really benefit the quality much, just lowers the bitrate without losing quality. I downloaded the 6 parts I needed in 360p, since I only needed the audio, and luckily I never deleted the finale recordings, so that saved me a lot of time.
I wasn't going to bother with the whole redownload in VP9 MKV than reconvert to AVC MP4, since the game is super dark, I don't think the codec would make a huge difference with YouTube compression in mind, dark stuff will always look pixelated on YouTube, doesn't matter if it's AVC, VP9, or AV1. So apparently Vegas Pro 21 & 22 support AV1, but not 20, so I might try upgrading when they have a sale, but I don't think I'm gonna be working with AV1 content enough to justify it (and I don't know if Magix ever fixed the not rendering audio fx bug in the newer versions, clearing the cache & factory resetting the software temporarily fixes it, but I just use 14 for audio now, I don't even bother mixing audio in 20 anymore, and I don't need gpu support to use wave sound hammer). Ironically, I can render in AV1 with Voukoder, just not edit. There's always handbrake for easy conversions.
I wanted to redo the audio mixing of the main game, since I just learned what a limiter was at the time, so I just cranked it up to max and set the limiter to 0.0 (this video has the limiter set to -3.1) and called it a day, but YouTube stats for nerds said it was too loud, so I wanted a bit more dynamic Range, but less then what the original audio was.
I wasn't planning on covering DSP's Alan Wake 2 DLC, but I'm glad I did. It turned out great.
