Matthew 17: 1-27

In Matthew 17, Jesus Christ was transfigured on the mountain. When he came down, he cast out demons from children that his disciples could not cast out. Then Jesus told the disciples about his death and resurrection. Hallelujah!

Jesus spoke of that time as a time of lack of faith and bigotry, and the disciples themselves lacked faith like everyone else. That is why they could not be salt and light that was different from others.

Today!!! My brothers and sisters, do not allow the unbelief of those around you to cause you to doubt or lack faith in Jesus.

Jesus did not have to pay for the temple. If he did, it would mean that he was not the Son of God. But if he did not pay, people would think that Jesus did not follow God's commandments, so they did not have to do it either. The solution at that time seemed relative, but Jesus solved this problem perfectly: let the fish pay for it instead.

The problem of brothers and sisters who may not see a way out, but Jesus always has a way out for brothers and sisters. "Jesus is the beloved Son of the Father. Therefore, we who are in Jesus are also the beloved Son of the Father."

How can brothers and sisters apply this Matthew 17 in their daily lives? And in this scripture, it shows the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ through the transfiguration, casting out demons, and paying the temple fee. Let's consider His words together at this time.

✝️✝️ Jesus Christ intentionally let Peter, John, and James see Him transfigured in a bright light, and saw Moses and Elijah come to talk to Him in order to confirm to the disciples that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. All 3

Peter, John, and James, these three people had a special mission later on: Peter had to lead the disciples, John had to stay the longest, and James had to be beheaded first.

When God allows someone to encounter certain events or situations, it is for His eternal plan that is beyond our understanding at that time. For us, who are believers in Jesus Christ, Thank God!

✝️✝️ At that time, Peter thought that it was a happy time for him, and he wanted it to last forever. So Peter suggested that we build 3 booths for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah, one each so that they could talk for a long time. But Jesus had a more important mission than being stuck in that happy time. He came to this world to walk into the misery so that we all could be saved.

Sometimes, our human eyes want to be in this comfortable state for a long... long time. But with God, He always has a more important mission prepared for us. When Peter tried to help God in his own way, it turned out to be ridiculous. We will do God's work in God's way, my dear brothers and sisters.

✝️✝️ The three disciples saw Jesus transfigured and Moses and Elijah, the representatives of the Law and the prophets. It was an exciting and joyful event. It should be advertised to everyone. But!!! Jesus forbade them from telling anyone about this so that God's eternal plan could be fulfilled.

In serving God, it is very important for all of you to receive guidance from God so that you can follow Him, in His way, in His time. Otherwise, what we do may interfere with His work instead of promoting His work.

✝️✝️ The disciples could not cast out the demon from the demon-possessed child because they did not believe. They had cast out demons before, but why could they not do so this time? It may be because everyone around them lacked faith. Note that Jesus rebuked them, saying, "O faithless and perverted generation, how long must I be with you? Where have you been? Bring the child to me here."

A person who used to have faith does not mean that today!!! He still has faith. Dear brothers and sisters, ask yourself: Do you still believe without a doubt that Jesus Christ can help you through today's situation?

✝️✝️ When Jesus Christ prophesied about His death and resurrection, the disciples were deeply troubled because they only half believed, that is, they believed that Jesus Christ would really die.

Today!!! When you read God's words, if you only believe in part, you will not be able to find true peace with God through His words.
