Lock him up': Joe Biden calls for Donald Trump to be put in jail

In the final few weeks of the US Election campaign trail, President Joe Biden has called for Donald Trump to be "politically" locked up.

Speaking at an event in New Hampshire, the 81-year-old president told a crowd: "We gotta lock him up".

"I know this sounds bizarre. It sounds like if I said this five years ago, you'd lock me up. We got to lock him up. Politically lock him up. Lock him out. That's what we have to do," Biden said.

Republican Donald Trump is facing off against Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris in November's election.

The 78-year-old has become the first former president in history to face a criminal conviction, having been found guilty of falsifying business records.
