Chemical EnLIGHTenment: Is Psychedelic Gnosis Legit? pt. 1

Psychedelic medicine has had it's fair share of naysayers over the decades. More recently, it has become generally accepted that psychedelics are an efficacious, and reasonably safe form of therapy. In fact, for most applications, psychedelics are as much as 85% more effective than more conventional therapies. But there is another, perhaps even more controversial, element to this conversation. Are psychedelics truly legitimate spiritual catalysts?

Terrence Mckenna famously challenged the notion that "you can get much higher without drugs than with them." My personal experience, bolstered by research based evidence, puts me squarely in Mckenna's camp. And, it is an important conversation; a lot is riding on the perception and, hopefully, cultural assimilation of psychedelics. Collective gnosis is our only hope.
