#313 | The Death of the Delaware County GOP! | The Political Spotlight

Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey hates to inform everyone of "The Death of the Delaware County GOP!"

Hopefully, something bigger and better can be reborn out of the ashes left behind, but the "Republican Party" in Delaware County, Indiana, has finally been suffocated by the lack of leadership from Party Bosses Ed Carroll and Jessica Piper, as well as a handful of other dimwits that have done everything in their power to ruin something that COULD have been a good thing!

Bilbrey discusses the slow and agonizing death in this 313th episode — Canceling the recent Lincoln Day Dinner was a significant issue, made even more ridiculous by how it was handled. And then, during the October 22, 2024, meeting of the Delaware County Council — Ed Carroll, Delaware County Republican Party Boss, acting in his other role as elected Delaware County Auditor, took verbal shots at his right-hand woman, Jessica Piper, Delaware County Republican Vice Party Boss, acting in her other role as elected Delaware County Councilor (and president of that council). It was quite a sight to see because that DOES NOT HAPPEN! Whatever happens, they usually do not air their grievances publicly! But Ed did in the meeting. Not only taking shots at Piper, but Delaware County Councilor Matt Kantz, a Republican, and the rest of the council, who all happen to be Republicans!

This even happened after Ed had sent emails to Piper and Kantz saying very similar things! It was as if he was purposefully taking public shots!

Moving on from the "Ed & Jessica Show." The next item on the checklist showing the Delaware County GOP is DOA — current Delaware County Commissioner Sherry Riggin (R) got up to speak at the Delaware County Council meeting, and while she said nothing of actual value, which is par for the course for her anymore. However, her appearance at the meeting sparked a source to call Bilbrey to inform him that Republican Commissioner Sherry Riggin has been OPENLY ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING DEMOCRAT JUDGE KIMBERLY DOWLING, SEEKING RE-ELECTION... and DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE FOR DELAWARE COUNTY COMMISSIONER ASHLEY WRIGHT... which for Commissioner Riggin to do that, puts her squarely at odds with her OWN Republican Party... and honestly, it makes her a "Republican Not in Good Standing."

The issue is that Ed and Jessica knew about it, and while Piper seems interested in saying and doing something about it, Ed, for whatever reason, is or has been holding off on taking action!

Lastly, concerning the Delaware County Republican Party, Big Ed recently tossed out two names that he considered names of people who really "stepped forward in the last year for the Party!" Ed said if there were ever a vacant seat, he would GLADLY back one or both of these men for filling the seat. Those names/men are DEMOCRAT JAMES KING and DEMOCRAT MIKE JONES! — Nothing more needs to be said!

Then, to wrap up the episode, Bilbrey quickly covers more of the Rainwater / Beckwith / Kendall ordeal, asking when Kendall will get his 30 pieces of silver!?
