Ukraine’s population has declined by about eight million since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, according to the U.N. Population Fund.

The war has caused 6.7 million refugees to flee, and Ukraine now has one of the world’s lowest birth rates, at about one child per woman, CBS News has reported.
