Law and Justice (Episode 11)

What is justice? Well it used to be the ultimate purpose of a legal system. But not anymore. Since the Enlightenment, and in the Woke progressive modern western world, the ultimate value is equality. The problem is, imposing equality has proven difficult and has shown itself to be inclined to lead to authoritarian and despotic governments. History has shown, leveling tends to require violence. In this video we will look at how justice was viewed in Plato's Republic and how justice is viewed through the lens of "social justice". Some of the conclusions we reach are, yes, quite shocking.
