Ephesians 4:25-32 "Cease and Desist" 10/20/2024

This portion of the letter to Ephesians is sort of Paul’s cease-and-desist letter to believers.
I have always said that Christianity doesn’t come with a list of things you can and cannot do.
But at first glance, it appears that Paul is describing a list of things we can't do.
We must stop lying, giving place to the enemy, stealing, speaking corrupt words, getting angry, and grieving the Holy Spirit.
But we are to be kind to one another.
However, this is more of a list of things we should no longer want to do because we are new creations in Christ…rather than a list of things we can't do.
It is also a list of things many of us still struggle with.
But if we are to walk worthy of our calling, we need to pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to help us stop doing these things that negatively affect our walk.
So, let's dig in and find out how much our lives have been changed by the transformative power of Jesus.
