Milwaukee police released bodycam video of a fatal standoff that happened Oct. 4 on North at 68th Street and Capitol Drive.

At approximately 8:33 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they observed three victims fleeing a residence by jumping from a second-story porch. One victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was armed.

As officers moved the victims to safety, a suspect armed with a firearm exited onto the second-story porch. Despite commands to drop the weapon, the suspect did not comply, leading an officer to discharge his firearm. The suspect then retreated inside.

After failed negotiations, tactical units entered the residence and found the 33-year-old man dead. A medical examiner's report later confirmed the officer's gunfire as the cause of death.

The shooting victim, also 33, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries from gunfire were reported.

The officer involved, a 28-year-old man with over three years of service, has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation.
