Tropical storm Oscar has made landfall in eastern Cuba, pressing breezes of almost 80mph (130km/h) on the third day of an almost cross country blackout.
On Friday, the island's principal energy plant fizzled and took out power for 10 million individuals. Supply was to some extent reestablished on Saturday, prior to falling once more.
Energy and Mining Clergyman Vicente de la O Toll said power would be reestablished for most by Monday night, while "the last client might get administration by Tuesday".
