Acts 7 contains the final words of the first Christian martyr, Stephen, and is the longest recorded sermon in the New Testament. In this famous sermon, Stephen walks his audience through the history of God’s people from the time of Abraham, through the Exodus under Moses, and then to David, Israel’s greatest king. In doing so, Stephen challenged those in his day to not be like their ancestors who proved themselves time and again resistant to change.
