Combines two demos. When I asked my wife to marry me in 1993, I was two years removed from the loss of a previous relationship. She hesitated. This song is set in that brief moment before she answered. Poetic license. We just celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2024, so it all worked out! But for a few seconds, I was standing on thin ice, on the brink of emotional disaster.
