Class Action Lawsuit Against Government for Healthcare Workers

Likely thousands of healthcare workers were fired or dismissed for their refusal to be "jabbed" with the COVID-19 shot. Sadly, many of them are still out of work, even though our healthcare system is chronically overloaded. Some hospitals still have vaccine mandates, while others have not been asked back to work, and still others have retired or moved to other careers.

Up until now, there was very little legal recourse many of these healthcare workers had. Most were unionized, and any grievance they had with their employer had to be managed by the union. My special interview guest Scarlett Martyn shares with me what is already well known - the unions were generally precious little help to anyone fighting a COVID dismissal.

Great news is, a novel new class action lawsuit seeks to change all of that. This lawsuit is not going after the employer, but after the government who implemented these last minute changes to their terms of employment.

This case uses novel legal arguments that have met with success before in Government/Union situations.

This class action, if certified will cover any healthcare worker in Ontario who was impacted by many of the government COVID directives. If they win, it will provide a blueprint to bring similar cases across the country.
