MENTOR IT! / Pastor Bob's Coffee Break

Dear Pastor Bob: I grew up in a Christian home. I was saved in 5th grade, soon afterwards I was baptized. We went to church every Sunday, etc. However, things were far from perfect. My family was extremely dysfunctional. The house was a hoarder home, there was lots of gossip, neglect, and addiction. Because of all this, I suffered a lot of trauma. I also turned away from the church and decided I hated Christianity. I came back to Christ about 10 years ago and have greatly improved after therapy and getting sober. My point is that I think Christians should set an example for others and the type of behavior I saw from my family can turn others away from Christ as it did to me. God gives us free will therefore, I think we should use it to better ourselves to help others. What is your opinion on this subject?
