Oak Hill Church of Christ 10-20-24 Message: "The Purpose of Man"

Oak Hill Church of Christ Elder, Curtis Lively, delivers a message on the importance of remembering why we were put on this Earth.

There are plenty of things these days which can take up our time and eat away at our spirit. Even our desire to fight for righteousness can be enervating if it is done outside the proper context.

The best thing an earnest believer can do is to ensure that his life is lived beginning with placing God first and allowing all other things to follow afterward. As Jesus declared, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness..." the path to a joyful life begins with a proper order for that life.

While all lives, even holy lives, experience stress, disappointment, crisis, struggle, and loss, the storm of life is better weathered with a focus on God and His purposes. It could well be that the struggles being experienced come from a disordered life. While many will come to Jesus, as he says, "saying Lord, Lord." not all of them have lived a life that shows they truly believe Jesus is Lord.

Consider this week that while a life can not always be made easier, it can be lived with purpose, so that the struggle itself is not vanity. Turn to God, aim to put Him first and His Righteousness, and see if, indeed, what you have need of will be added to you.
