October 21, 1944 - 'Monon Bell Memory' : DePauw vs. Wabash (Wartime)

A fourth quarter touchdown run of 31 yards by Wabash College's Jim Allerdice guaranteed that the men from Crawfordsville had regained the Monon Bell from DePauw University. The host Little Giants ended their season with a 4-1-2 record by defeating the Tigers, 14-7, in the football rivalry which dates back to 1890. DePauw, which still had three games remaining on its schedule, lost its first five contests of 1944.
