NEW: An Ohio family felt the need to provide some relief to High Country farmers in the wake of the destruction from Hurricane Helene.

Brother and sister Kelton Keller and Kaylee Keller began the relief effort after texting with a friend who once lived near them, but now lives here asking what was needed. The reply was hay. A social media post on the family-run business, Keller Meats, really ramped up the support to get hay and other supplies and funds.

In the initial hours of the post, they raised $10,000 which then increased to $50,000 the two said in an interview with WataugaOnline.

Kaylee pointed out that including hay, feed, tack, personal care, medical supplies, etc that amount is close to $150,000.
