Episode 2606: Faithfulness to God's Designs with Confidence and Mary’s Care - Nightly Episode
“O my God, at the end of this day I thank You most heartily for all the graces I have received
from You. I am sorry that I have not made better use of them. I am sorry for all the sins I have
committed against You. Forgive me, O my God, and graciously protect me this night. Blessed
Virgin Mary, my dear heavenly mother, take me under your protection. St. Joseph, my dear
Guardian Angel, and all you saints of God, pray for me. Sweet Jesus, have pity on all poor
sinners, and save them from hell. Have mercy on the suffering souls in purgatory. Amen.”

Introduction: Confidence in God and Mary’s Loving Care
Welcome to today’s episode! Today, we reflect on how to faithfully cooperate with God’s will, even when we feel weak or inadequate, and how the Blessed Virgin Mary supports us in that journey. We’ll explore the words of St. Isaac Jogues and St. Louis de Montfort, along with Scripture, to better understand the spiritual truth that God does not need our help to accomplish His plans He asks only for our faithfulness.
So often, we become anxious or discouraged, thinking we need to accomplish great things to be worthy servants of God. But the saints teach us something different: God’s power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). He asks for our trust, not our perfection. And through the care of Our Lady, we are preserved in grace and protected from the snares of the enemy.
In this episode, we’ll dive into what it means to surrender ourselves to God’s designs, trust Mary’s maternal care, and persevere in grace.

Segment 1: Confidence in God’s Sovereignty
Let’s begin with the powerful words of St. Isaac Jogues, a Jesuit missionary who endured unimaginable suffering for the Gospel:
"My confidence is placed in God, who does not need our help for accomplishing His designs. Our single endeavor should be to give ourselves to the work and to be faithful to Him."
St. Isaac’s message is both liberating and challenging. Liberating because it reminds us that God's plan does not rely on our abilities He doesn’t need us to be perfect, only faithful. And challenging because it requires us to surrender control and trust that God’s work will be fulfilled, even when we don’t see immediate results.
This theme echoes Romans 8:28, which assures us: “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” When we are faithful to God, even our trials and sufferings become part of His divine design. This was the way of the saints, who understood that faithfulness is more important than success in worldly terms.
Think about St. Isaac Jogues: after escaping from captivity, he chose to return to the mission field, knowing he could face martyrdom and he did. His confidence in God’s providence led him to embrace suffering with trust, knowing that the fruit of his labor would blossom in God’s time.

Segment 2: The Maternal Care of Mary
Faithfulness becomes easier when we recognize that we are not alone on this journey. St. Louis de Montfort speaks beautifully about how Mary watches over her children:
"After Mary has heaped her favors upon her children and faithful servants, and has obtained for them the blessings of the heavenly Father and union with Jesus Christ, she reserves them in Jesus and Jesus in them. She takes care of them, watches over them always, for fear they should lose the grace of God and fall into the snares of their enemies."
What an incredible image of Mary’s love! She not only intercedes for us but preserves us in grace, ensuring that we remain close to Jesus. This truth brings profound peace. Even when we stumble, she gently draws us back to her Son. As a mother, she helps us persevere when the spiritual battle feels overwhelming.
This reminds us of the words of John 19:27, when Jesus entrusted Mary to the beloved disciple: “Behold, your mother.” Through Mary, we are given a path to stay close to Jesus, especially when trials come. Her role is to strengthen us and guard the grace we have received, ensuring we persevere to the end.
As St. Thérèse of Lisieux said, “The Blessed Virgin has always taken care of me; as soon as I called upon her, she came to help me.” In the same way, Mary accompanies us in our work for God, protecting us from discouragement and keeping us on the path of holiness.

Segment 3: The Call to Persevere in Faith and Grace
Faithfulness to God requires perseverance, especially when we face challenges or feel inadequate. As 2 Timothy 4:7 says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” God does not ask us to accomplish everything on our own He gives us the strength to persevere through His grace and through Mary’s intercession.
When trials come, we can remember these key truths:
1. God does not need perfection—only faithfulness. Even if we stumble or fail, His plan will not be thwarted.
2. Mary preserves us in grace. She draws us back to Jesus and ensures that we do not fall into the traps of the enemy.
3. Perseverance is the key to holiness. We may not see the fruits of our labor right away, but God asks us to trust that He is working behind the scenes.
A beautiful example of perseverance is found in the life of St. Monica, who prayed for the conversion of her son, St. Augustine, for many years before seeing her prayers answered. Like St. Monica, we are called to remain faithful in our prayers and work, trusting that God's timing is perfect.

Conclusion: Faithful to the End
In today’s episode, we have reflected on how confidence in God’s plan and trust in Mary’s care help us persevere in faith. St. Isaac Jogues teaches us that God does not need our help—only our faithfulness. And St. Louis de Montfort reminds us that Mary accompanies us every step of the way, guarding the grace we have received.
As Catholics, we are called to trust that every trial, every effort, and every prayer offered in faith becomes part of God’s greater design. Even when the journey feels long or discouraging, we can rest in the knowledge that God is working through us. With Mary at our side, we can persevere to the end, confident that we are always under her protection.

Closing Prayer:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your grace, which strengthens us to remain faithful in the work You have given us. Help us to trust in Your providence, even when we do not see the fruits of our labor. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, keep us close to Your Son and preserve us in grace. May we persevere to the end, giving You glory in all that we do. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Our Lady, Help of Christians, pray for us.
St. Isaac Jogues, pray for us.
St. Louis de Montfort, pray for us.
Thank you for joining us today. Until next time, may the peace of Christ be with you, and may Our Lady keep you always close to her Son.
Ending:
