Lonnie Poland and Senator Irene Wrenner attack Matt Kelly’s Free Speech Rights (FULL)

On Thursday October 3, 2024, the Lake Champlain Access Television (LCATV) held their Board of Directors meeting which had LCATV show Milton Today host Matt Kelly on the agenda as a candidate for LCATV Board of Directors to represent Milton along with the UNPRECEDENTED complaints made by sitting Milton/Essex/Westford/Fairfax Senator Irene Wrenner and Milton/Georgia State Representative candidate Lonnie Poland against Matt Kelly as host of his show, Milton Today.

Lonnie Poland complains about the “tough” questions (watch it here: https://lcatv.org/milton-today-2024-08-01) she and Julia Andrews (watch it here: https://lcatv.org/milton-today-2024-09-19) received during their interviews. Irene Wrenner also complains about their interviews as cause for her cancelling last minute along with her subsequent “poor” treatment from Matt Kelly in email after cancelling and possibly responding discourtiously when she left him scrambling to find a replacement guest on short notice while repeatedly calling him Mark instead of Matt. BOTH Lonnie Poland and Irene Wrenner actually attack Matt Kelly’s candidacy for LCATV Board of Directors.

This is an unprecedented attack on our First Amendment freedom of speech and the press by these two current candidates for office.

It is unclear how Matt Kelly’s candidacy for the Board Of Directors will go; however, I was advised that subsequent to the executive session the complaints led to a finding of no violation of LCATV policy. So, once again, Lonnie Poland has made baseless allegations that have wasted a board’s time with no violation being found.

Matt Kelly was able to get Milton Republican Chair, Wendy Wilton, to take Irene Wrenner’s place in “the hot seat” that neither of them could handle which can now be seen here: https://lcatv.org/milton-today-2024-10-03. He also recorded this LCATV Board of Directors meeting for his show as “Part 2” of the Milton Library Trustee meeting public recording issue found here: https://lcatv.org/milton-today-2024-09-20 where Lauren Blume is attempting to implement a policy at the Milton Library disallowing the public’s constitutional right to record public meetings. Thankfully, this citizen journalist recorded this public meeting as it is unclear whether or when Matt Kelly will publish his content.
