Police Catch Woman Accused of Stealing Cellphone from Elderly Woman

On October 16, 2024, the Atlanta Police Department's Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit assisted the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Decatur GA in locating a vehicle and a suspect of armed robbery. The suspect had robbed an elderly woman of her cell phone. A.C.E. Unit officers located the vehicle and suspect, but the suspect attempted to flee from the police and a pursuit ensued. A.C.E. Unit officers utilized a P.I.T. maneuver to end the pursuit and take the suspect into custody. The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Jenee Johnson.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was the arresting agency and charged Johnson with:
• Armed Robbery
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
• Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police
