All you need is a t-shirt or a vest top and some embroidery thread.
I use here basic stitches such as: straight, satin, fishbone, Lazy Daisy, French knot, and back stitch (or if you prefer a whipped back stitch) for the branches.
Optional - iron-on interfacing, to iron it underneath your design, so it feels nice to the skin.
