Former chief health officer Brett Sutton about pre-bunking

"You know, one of the other defaults that especially happens is to be ruthlessly consistent over a long period of time despite the reality of the world changing. And that was so true through COVID-19. You know, the vaccine that worked to stop transmission and prevent serious illness at the beginning wasn't so good at preventing transmission but still good at preventing serious illness. And then later on it was good for six months but not for a year. So you know these are changing realities and we have to be able to move with the changing facts as well... It's pre-bunking as an idea. So debunking, you know, correcting after the fact but pre-bunking the idea that you let people know how misinformation and disinformation might come to them and the appearance that it might take and the motivations and means by which people might try and promulgate that I think is a really important and it should happen in school.
