SEED OF DESTINY WRITTEN BY THE SENIOR PASTOR OF DUNAMIS INTERNATIONAL GOSPEL CENTRE, DR PAUL ENENCHE.

SATURDAY 19TH OCTOBER 2024.

Our TOPIC: DEVELOPING GODLY CHARACTER BY THE SPIRIT.

Today's SCRIPTURE: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. GALATIANS chapter 5 verse 22 to 23. Hallelujah!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your praying in the Spirit is not useful if it cannot first change and shape your character.

Living and flowing in the Spirit is one way to develop godly character. When you pray in the Spirit genuinely consistently, your character is changed.

Now, what are the fruits of the Spirit?
Galatians chapter 5 verse 22 to 23 reveals them:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

It is important to know that the Spirit of God is not just for the manifestation of gifts, but for the development of fruits. And these fruits mean character. A person can have the fruit of character.

There are some men whose wives tremble when they come home; their children also take cover at their sight and presence.
His household workers, the cook, driver, security officers are all under pressure because of his character.

Now, if you find yourself in this situation, your life can be adjusted by the Spirit of God when you pray in the Spirit.
Any tongue-speaking (or praying in the Spirit) that does not change your character first is useless. The tongue-speaking that cannot change your behaviour is useless praying in tongues.

Your speaking in tongue is not useful if it cannot reduce your loquacity, verbal diarrhoea, pride, anger, malice, and hate. Your praying in the Spirit is not useful if it cannot first change and shape your character.
The Spirit of God is called the spirit holiness.

Romans chapter 1 verse 4 says,
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
So, the assignment of the Holy Spirit is the empowerment of the saints unto holy living. When you allow the Holy Spirit to saturate your life, you can live a holy life.

Beloved, don’t just speak in tongues to manifest power; speak in tongue to manifest the fruits of the Spirit, which include godly character, holiness, love, temperance, etc.

Remember this: Your praying in the Spirit is not useful if it cannot first change and shape your character.

Take this ASSIGNMENT with you:
#1. Allow the Holy Ghost to change your lifestyle as you pray in the Spirit.
#2. Live a godly life that befits your profession of Christianity and confession of Christ. Yes sir!

Our PRAYER today: Lord, I ask for fresh grace to pray in the Spirit. Let the fruit of the Spirit be made manifest in my life as I pray in the Spirit.

QUOTE: There are many great people; people of potential; people of influence, who are wallowing in irrelevance, because of character bankruptcy. Culled from the book, “30 Secrets To The Top” by Dr Paul Enenche.

Today's DAILY READING: from Mark chapter 11 to 13.

We start with Mark chapter 11, Now when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples; and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.” So they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?” And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:“Hosanna!‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord!Hosanna in the highest!” And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve. Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”And His disciples heard it. So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ” And the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His teaching. When evening had come, He went out of the city. Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive and you will have “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Then they came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to Him. And they said to Him, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?” But Jesus answered and said to them, “I also will ask you one question; then answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things: The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer Me.” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ But if we say, ‘From men’ ”—they feared the people, for all counted John to have been a prophet indeed. So they answered and said to Jesus, “We do not know.”And Jesus answered and said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” hallelujah!

Mark chapter 12, Then He began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard and set a hedge around dug the wine vat and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that he might receive some of the fruit of the vineyard from the vinedressers. Again he sent them another servant, and at him they threw stones, wounded in the head, and sent away shamefully treated. And they took and beat him and sent away empty-handed. And again he sent another, and him they killed; and many others, beating some and killing some. Therefore still having one son, his beloved, he also sent him to them last, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ But those vinedressers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ “Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the vinedressers, and give the vineyard to others. So they took him and killed and cast out of the vineyard. Have you not even read this Scripture:‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the ’s doing,And it is marvelous in our eyes’?” And they sought to lay hands on Him, but feared the multitude, for they knew He had spoken the parable against them. So they left Him and went away. Then they sent to Him some of the Pharisees and the Herodians, to catch Him in His words. When they had come, they said to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and care about no one; for You do not regard the person of men, but teach the way of God in truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Shall we pay, or shall we not pay?”But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may see ” So they brought it.And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”And they marveled at Him. Then some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him; and they asked Him, saying: “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies, and leaves his wife behind, and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. Now there were seven brothers. The first took a wife; and dying, he left no offspring. And the second took her, and he died; nor did he leave any offspring. And the third likewise. So the seven had her and left no offspring. Last of all the woman died also. Therefore, in the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be? For all seven had her as wife.” Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God? For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the bush how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. You are therefore greatly mistaken.” Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?” Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments ‘Hear, O Israel, the our God, the is one. And you shall love the your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This the first commandment. And the second, like this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”But after that no one dared question Him. Then Jesus answered and said, while He taught in the temple, “How that the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David? For David himself said by the Holy Spirit:‘The said to my Lord,“Sit at My right hand,Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ’ Therefore David himself calls Him ‘Lord’; how is He his Son?”And the common people heard Him gladly. Then He said to them in His teaching, “Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, greetings in the marketplaces, who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.” the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.” hallelujah!

Mark chapter, Then as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not stone shall be left upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?” For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am ’ and will deceive many. And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for must happen, but the end not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These the beginnings of sorrows. “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. But when they arrest and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. “So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter. For those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days. “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand. “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven. “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” hallelujah!
