This week we cover chapter two of Galatians. Paul is understandably frustrated when he learns that false brethren have infiltrated the church. He refuses Peter in front of all of the church at Antioch, and then explains that rebuke in the letter he wrote to Galatia.
This is why it is important to properly, not pridefully, call out false teaching and hypocrisy in the church. Paul had to do just that all throughout his letter writing to the churches he planted. The churches had to follow the Gospel without compromise, and unfortunately he witnessed Peter, a pillar of the church, compromising to please the leaders of the church in Jerusalem.
If the church would stop pleasing people and focus on pleasing the Lord of heaven above, we would have few more drop outs and many more focused on what really matters.
