Orbán on Zelenskyy’s victory plan: More than frightening

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán criticized Ukraine’s plan to seek weapons and security guarantees from the West, calling it “more than frightening.”

His remarks came in response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s “victory plan” presented before a European Council meeting discussing future EU aid to Ukraine.

Orbán argued for a shift from a war strategy to a peace strategy, advocating for a cease-fire and peace negotiations instead of sending more weapons.

He plans to urge EU leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron, to initiate negotiations with Moscow, Politico has reported.
