I. The Vanity of Vanities  - Ecclesiastes 1:2, 14
* A. When a person rejects the Creator God who made them
* 1. Life becomes a tale told by an idiot, full of sound a fury, signifying nothing
* 2. Life is filled with terrors -  Job 30:15
* B. Solomon in Ecclesiastes explores every realm of life
* 1. And finds that without God it is all meaningless vanity
* 2. The real purpose in life is to live for the One True God

II. The Search for The Good Shepherd - Micah 7:14-15
* A. The God ordained under shepherds often fail at the task God assigned to them
* 1. In Family Government - Ephesians 6:4
* 2. In Church Government - 1 Peter 5:1-4
* 3. In Civil Government - 2 Samuel 5:1-3
* B. The Good Shepherd Jesus Christ never fails 
* 1. He shepherds with His staff - Psalm 23:4
* a. The rod brings protection against attackers
* b. The staff gives discipline, direction and rescue.
* 2. Israel was separated unto God - the path of holiness
* 3. Israel had abundant provision both east and west of the Jordan river - Gilead and Bashan
* 4. God had liberated Israel from 400 years of bondage by great and mighty miracles in the land of Egypt
* a. The ten plagues and the Red Sea destroy the power of the mightiest empire on earth
* b. He can and will do miracles again for His people
* c. And especially so in the plagues which will come before the 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ - Revelation 9:4-5, John 10:4-5, 11
