Thin Crust Sourdough Pizza - Little Spoon Farm

Thin Crust Sourdough Pizza recipe:

Ingredients:
1 cup (240g) active sourdough starter (fed and bubbly)
2 ½ cups (300g) all-purpose flour
½ cup (120ml) water (adjust as needed)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar (optional, helps with browning)
Your favorite pizza toppings (sauce, cheese, veggies, meats)
Instructions:
Prepare the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the active sourdough starter, flour, water, olive oil, salt, and sugar. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic (about 5-7 minutes). Add more water or flour if necessary to get the right consistency.

Rest the dough:
Cover the dough with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for 4-6 hours (or overnight in the fridge) until it doubles in size. If refrigerating, let it come to room temperature before using.

Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating for a crispier crust.

Shape the pizza:
Divide the dough in half (for two smaller pizzas) or use it all for one large pizza. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thinness. Transfer to a parchment paper or a lightly floured pizza peel.

Add toppings:
Spread your favorite pizza sauce, sprinkle cheese, and add any toppings of your choice (vegetables, meats, etc.).

Bake the pizza:
Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone (or a baking sheet if you don’t have a stone). Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is crispy and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Serve:
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven, slice it up, and enjoy!
