Jazmine Walton, 23, struggled with debilitating hallucinations since childhood. She experienced a hallucination of a man urging her to commit suicide. In 2023, she shot herself in the face with her ex-boyfriend's .45 caliber handgun, severely injuring her lip, teeth, chin, and nose. She survived long enough to reach the hospital, where she underwent two emergency surgeries. Following her recovery, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and now manages her condition with medication.
