This episode is absolutely jam packed with motivation, inspiration, real talk and hard facts about our current healthcare system in Canada.

I am joined by two amazing women who are on a mission to help empower Canadians to take their healthcare journey into their hands by advocating for yourself and ensuring you have informed consent.

Sarah, returning for her second time (Ep 127!) has been in a long battle for speaking up during the pandemic and doing what she knew was right as a nurse. She knew people were not going be having informed consent on a massive scale and could not stand by and watch silently.

Nordia, finding herself in the same position as Sarah, removed herself from that space at the beginning of the pandemic and also started sharing facts and information from an unbiased stand point to help ensure as much informed consent as possible. She was also flagged for sharing on social media despite keeping her personal opinions to herself.

Because of the regulation practitioners face, I feel many patients may not get the best care/options out there & leave practitioners feeling more helpless by the day.

Everything seems so clinical and black and white.

We know healthcare has much more than that.

Well that’s where these advocates are going to come in.

Help you navigate the system, understand your options, your possible treatments and work with you and your team to get the most care possible.

They are in no way diagnosing, treating or treatment planning, rather helping gain more clarity to your situation and options and help you understand what the heck you are reading or being told :)

Like fairy god mothers 😍
