The Israeli military said Thursday it is "actually looking at the chance" that Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, blamed for being the modeler of the Oct. 7 fear assault, was among three aggressors killed in Gaza during its activities in the territory.
Sinwar was pronounced Hamas' new political head in August following the death of Ismail Haniyeh.
On the off chance that Sinwar is to be sure dead, his killing would be a significant upset for Israel and its conflict in the Gaza Strip.
In a joint proclamation, the Israel Protection Powers and Israel Security Office, or Shin Bet, said something like three aggressors were killed in a structure during an activity in Gaza. They didn't develop how they were killed, yet said they were examining whether one of the three was Sinwar.
he IDF and Shin Bet said there were "no indications of the presence of prisoners nearby" of the structure where the three aggressors were killed.
"The powers that are working in the space are proceeding to work with the expected mindfulness," they added, saying more subtleties would follow.
Israeli Protection Pastor Yoav Chivalrous wrote in a post on X on Thursday: "'You will seek after your foes and they will fall before you by the sword.' — Leviticus 26. Our foes can't stow away. We will seek after and dispense with them."
