🚨 BREAKING: Moonee Ponds University (Puckle Street Campus)

(Intro)
Walking down Puckle Street, where life lessons unfold,
In the heart of Moonee Ponds, memories untold.
A strip that felt like school, our campus, our ground,
Where the spirit of the suburbs in every corner is found.

(Verse 1)
From the fresh produce market, bustling with life,
To the cafes where we laughed, forgetting our strife.
The Lady Latte set with their daily chat,
Young blokes talking footy and politics, imagine that.

We’d gather at 100 Puckle Street, if you had coin to spend,
Trading stories and dreams, of the days ahead.
Moonee Ponds was our classroom, Puckle Street our hall,
Where we learned about life, and we cherished it all.

(Chorus)
Did you go to Moonee Ponds University too,
On Puckle Street, with courage, tradition, and history?
We learned life’s lessons, with laughter and tears,
At the Puckle Street Campus, through all the years.

(Verse 2)
The market stalls have gone, but the memories stay,
Faces may have changed, but the essence remains.
From the butcher to the bookshop, and the old corner store,
The history of Puckle Street, memories we adore.

We watched the world change, but our roots stayed the same,
In Moonee Ponds, where everyone knew our name.
The lessons we learned, not from books but from life,
At the Puckle Street Campus, through joy and strife.

(Chorus)
Did you go to Moonee Ponds University too,
On Puckle Street, with courage, tradition, and history?
We learned life’s lessons, with laughter and tears,
At the Puckle Street Campus, through all the years.

(Verse 3)
Now the years have passed, and we look back with pride,
At the place that shaped us, where our hearts reside.
From the vibrant past to the quieter present day,
Moonee Ponds holds our memories in a special way.

The market's gone, the cafes changed, but the spirit’s still here,
In every laugh, every chat, over a coffee or a beer.
We walked these streets as students of life’s grandest class,
At Moonee Ponds University, where good times last.

(Chorus)
Did you go to Moonee Ponds University too,
On Puckle Street, with courage, tradition, and history?
We learned life’s lessons, with laughter and tears,
At the Puckle Street Campus, through all the years.

(Outro)
So here’s to the memories, the laughter, the tears,
In Moonee Ponds we graduated, and shaped us through the years.
At the Puckle Street Campus, where our hearts will always be,
A part of us forever, eternally free.

(Chorus)
Did you go to Moonee Ponds University too,
On Puckle Street, with courage, tradition, and history?
We learned life’s lessons, with laughter and tears,
At the Puckle Street Campus, through all the years.

Cheers,

Author’s note: If you grew up in, or the surrounding suburbs, and ever visited Puckle Street in Moonee Ponds, then this song’s for you. I’ve been a regular face in Puckle Street since 1972, and seen plenty of changes, from late night shopping to the old market days, and some things that will never change. Anyone who has a business in Puckle Street and won’t play this song for their customers, deserves to go out of business. Joke. Or am I? LMFAO

*This song is dedicated to 10 year-old me and my adventures in Puckle Street, from a very early age
