Visiting the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC

Abraham Lincoln, the country's 16th president, is honored by a national memorial in the United States called the Lincoln Memorial. It is a neoclassical temple situated opposite the Washington Monument on the western end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The memorial was conceptualized by Henry Bacon.

The enormous Lincoln Memorial, which dominates the Reflecting Pool at the western end of the National Mall, serves as its focal point. The best way to access the memorial is from the east, next to the Washington Monument and the National World War II Memorial. This will lead you to the Reflecting Pool's edge, a sparkling area that best highlights the imposing monuments honoring nation's most distinguished presidents.
